About me

Gina Liano is an Italian-Australian barrister, businesswoman, television personality, actress, author and qualifie wedding celebrant.

She grew up in Melbourne as the youngest child of Italian immigrant parents and has two sisters, Bettina and Teresa Liano, both successful fashion designers.  She attended Star of the Sea College and later studied at Monash University, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws before being admitted to practice law in 1997 and joining the Victorian Bar in 1999.

Professionally, Gina built a respected legal career as a criminal barrister, specialising in cases across criminal, family and commercial law.  In 2014 she rose to national fame as a main cast member on the reality TV series The Real Housewives of Melbourne, captivating audiences for 4 seasons, with her sharp wit, glamour and unapologetic personality.  She also had a recurring acting role as Mary Smith on the long-running Australian soap Neighbours in 2015–2016.

Beyond TV and law, Gina has authored her autobiography Fearless: My Life, My Way, released business ventures including fragrances, jewellery and a tanning range, and worked as a property developer and art gallery curator.  She has been an ordained celebrant since 2017, officiating weddings and supporting marriage equality.

Gina is also known for her resilience after surviving a battle with cancer in 2003.
